Story

Hey, Y'all!

I am a small town girl from Bedford County Virginia. I grew up in the country and still today love and live in the country! I am married to my best friend for 22 years and have four amazing children. Together we started Mountain View Vintage Market.

Mountain View Vintage Market was a dream...a dream that I never knew would come to reality. I have always loved antiques, farmhouse décor, dumpster divin, and repurposing items. Anything to bring me back to memories of my grandparents farmhouse. Love me some good auctions too!! I also believe that making your home cozy and warm with decorations is part of lovin on your family.

For years I would go to markets, mostly down in North Carolina. I would come home and tell my husband, we can do this. However, I was so fearful. Well, with lots of prayer, I put that fear behind me and in 2017, we had our very first Mountain View Vintage Market. I couldn’t have asked for a better day. What a blessing it was.

Have you ever seen a prayer come to reality right in front of you? That is exactly what happened and I tell you the truth, I cried at least 5 times that day. All happy tears!

Mountain View is in Bedford County on 45 acres right below the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have an amazing view of The Peaks of Otter. We are an upscaled vintage market with around 50 unique vendors. They include farmhouse décor, antique, shabby chic, rustic, and refurbished vendors. As well as an array of talented handmade artisans such as sign makers, candle makers, crotchet, jewlrey and much much more. We have delicious food trucks-pizza, barbeque, Mexican, coffee and sweets. As well as live music!!!!

Our volunteers put an extra bonus on this market. Our goal is when people walk away, they have felt love and kindness. We think our amazing volunteers help make our market stand out!

It has been an amazing journey. We have met people that have become sweet friends. We are on our sixth year this October and we couldn’t be more excited!!

We love the fall around here at Mountain View. Fall brings apple cider, pumpkins, hay rides and bon fires. The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are cooling down. It is time to cozy up your house, making it warm and inviting. Mountain View allows you to shop vintage and antique, handmade artisans to give that special touch for the upcoming holidays. So, come shop the booths of unique vendors, grab some coffee, delicious food and capture the gorgeous views. Have a girls day, grab your hubby for a date, or come by yourself. No matter what you won’t be sorry!!
